## Overview

### Introduction

Calendar preferences allow you to customize how your schedule looks, how your events sync, and where new entries go. You can set your default write calendar, change your display names, and adjust your preferences to match your workflow.

> [!NOTE]
> Changes you make to your calendar preferences save automatically as you adjust them.

---

### Changing Your Default Write Calendar

When you create a new event or generate a booking link, it goes into your default calendar. You can choose any writable calendar as your default.

1. Go to **Settings** and select **Accounts**.
2. Locate the **Default calendar** selection field.
3. Choose your preferred calendar from the dropdown list, which organizes your calendars by account.

> [!TIP]
> If you hide a calendar that is currently set as your default, the system will automatically fall back to another active calendar on that account until you choose a new default.

---

### Customizing Calendar Names and Colors

You can rename your calendars and view their associated colors so they match how you talk about your schedule. The app and assistant use your custom names, while your provider keeps its original name.

1. Go to **Settings** and scroll down to the **Calendars** section.
2. Find the calendar you want to customize under its connected account.
3. Click the menu icon next to the calendar name to open the customization options.
4. Enter your preferred display name.

> [!NOTE]
> To reset a calendar name back to its original provider name, simply clear the custom name field or set it to blank.

---

### Adjusting Time and Display Preferences

You can manage your global time, clock, and layout preferences to keep your schedule aligned with your local environment.

1. Go to **Settings** and select **Preferences**.
2. Update any of the core settings using the available controls:
   - **Timezone**: Sets the primary time zone for your calendar grid and event times.
   - **Working hours**: Defines the starting and ending hours used for your schedule suggestions and booking links.
   - **Time format**: Switches between a `12h` and `24h` clock.
   - **Week starts on**: Chooses which day begins your calendar grid view.

| Preference Option | Available Settings | Description |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| **Time Format** | `12h`, `24h` | Controls whether times appear with AM/PM or on a 24-hour clock. |
| **Week Starts On** | `Monday`, `Sunday`, `Saturday` | Determines the first column displayed on your calendar grid. |
| **Working Hours** | `9-17`, `8-18`, or custom hours | Sets your active daily working window. |

### Managing Conflict Calendars

If you use booking or scheduling links, you can control which calendars count toward your busy time so guests cannot double-book you.

1. Navigate to your scheduling availability settings.
2. Review the list of connected accounts and their individual calendars.
3. Toggle individual calendars **on** or **off** to include or exclude them from your availability check.

> [!WARNING]
> Apple calendar accounts are managed at the account level; per-calendar opt-out is not available for Apple accounts because their free/busy data covers the entire account.
