## Overview

The calendar lets you view, navigate, and organize your schedule across flexible time grids. You can switch between views to plan your week or inspect your monthly workload, create events quickly using natural language or grid clicks, and update meeting details or adjust your schedule on the fly.

> [!NOTE]
> All calendar grids and time calculations adhere to your saved timezone, clock format (12-hour or 24-hour), and designated first day of the week as configured in your settings.

## Switching Between Calendar Views

### ### View Modes and Navigation

You can toggle between different visual perspectives of your schedule using the view switcher in the toolbar, keyboard shortcuts, or deep links.

- **Day View (`day`):** Focuses on a single day's hourly time slots. On smaller phone screens, the calendar opens in Day view by default unless a specific view is requested.
- **Week View (`week`):** Displays a rolling 7-day window with hour-by-hour vertical grids, alongside an all-day event strip at the top.
- **Month View (`month`):** Presents a multi-week grid displaying full months with event bars for multi-day items and condensed indicators for single-day items.

### Keyboard Shortcuts for Navigation

| Key | Action |
| :--- | :--- |
| `d` | Switch to Day view |
| `w` | Switch to Week view |
| `m` | Switch to Month view |
| `t` | Jump to Today |
| `ArrowLeft` / `ArrowRight` | Step backward or forward through time periods |
| `c` | Open the New Event dialog |
| `q` | Focus the Quick Add bar |

## Quick-Add Events

### ### Creating Events Quickly

You can add events instantly by typing natural language descriptions into the Quick Add bar or by interacting directly with the calendar grid.

### Using the Quick Add Bar

1. Focus the Quick Add bar at the top of the calendar toolbar (or press `q` / `⌘K`).
2. Type your event details naturally (for example: `"Standup every weekday 9:30"` or `"Video call Thursday 4pm"`).
3. Press `Enter` to instantly create the event, or press `Shift + Enter` to open and review the full event details form before saving.

### Using Click-to-Create on the Grid

1. In **Day** or **Week** view, click any empty hour slot on the calendar grid. The system automatically seeds the create dialog with the selected day and time.
2. In **Month** view, click an empty day cell to open the creation dialog seeded with that date (defaulting to 9:00 AM).

## Editing and Managing Meetings

### ### Modifying Schedule and Details

You can modify meeting times, adjust event durations, or update event metadata directly from the schedule views or through the detailed event panel.

### Rescheduling and Resizing via Drag-and-Drop

- **Moving an Event:** Click and drag any event card to a new time slot or day column to instantly reschedule it.
- **Resizing an Event:** Grab the top or bottom edge (or left/right edges in month view) of a timed event card and drag to lengthen or shorten its duration.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> All event-write mutations (such as updates, drags, and resizes) are queued safely to prevent rate-limit errors from external providers while providing instant, optimistic UI updates.

### Updating Meeting Details

1. Click any event on the calendar to open its detail panel.
2. Edit fields directly inline, such as the event title, date ranges, location, reminders, or notes.
3. Toggle the **All day** switch to convert a timed meeting into an all-day event or vice versa.
4. Manage attendees or respond directly to invitations (accept, tentative, or decline) without leaving your calendar view.
