## Overview

Organizing and managing your meeting notes effectively helps you keep track of crucial decisions, discussions, and follow-ups. Whether you are creating manual notes or reviewing AI-processed call transcripts, the software provides powerful tools to customize tags, automatically enhance meeting summaries, and link action items directly to participants.

> [!NOTE]
> Meeting recording and automated transcription features are available on paid plans: `$49 once or $4.99 a month`.

## Organizing Notes with Custom Tags

### Managing custom tags and categories
Tags allow you to categorize and filter your past meetings by topic, project, or department.

### How to create and apply a custom tag
1. Open any meeting note from your meetings list or calendar event panel.
2. Locate the tag chips area in the meeting header.
3. Add or select existing tags to categorize the discussion.
4. To create a new tag, use the tag management interface to assign a custom name, choose an identifying icon, emoji, and color scheme, and optionally add a description.

> [!TIP]
> Adding descriptions to your custom tags helps improve automatic meeting categorization and makes searching through past discussions much easier.

## Enhancing Meeting Summaries with AI

### Understanding AI-generated summaries
When you record a meeting or upload a transcript, the software automatically processes the conversation to generate clear, structured summaries and clean transcripts. The summary includes:
- **Overview:** Concise 2 to 6 bullet points summarizing the main topics of the call.
- **Topic Sections:** Detailed headings ordered chronologically by when subjects were discussed.
- **Action Items:** Explicit commitments or requests identified in the conversation.
- **Speaker Attribution:** Automatically maps generic speaker labels to meeting attendees when the conversation makes ownership clear.

### Re-enhancing meeting notes
If you want to refresh or regenerate the AI notes:
1. Open the meeting note detail view.
2. Click the **Enhance** button in the header.
3. Confirm the prompt to replace existing AI notes.

> [!WARNING]
> Re-running the enhancement replaces the AI-generated notes, but your manually written private notes and custom action items are safely preserved.

## Linking Action Items to Participants

### Tracking tasks and owners
Action items extracted from meetings or added manually can be tracked and assigned directly to meeting participants:
- **Assignees:** Action items automatically attribute owners based on who committed to the task during the conversation, matching names against the meeting participant roster.
- **Status tracking:** Check off tasks as completed directly from the meeting note view. Completed action items keep their completion history even if the AI notes are updated or re-enhanced.
