## Overview

Connecting your calendar providers allows you to see all your events in one place. You can link multiple accounts across different services to view, manage, and coordinate your schedule from a single interface.

Supported calendar providers: Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Calendar (Sources: `app/api/lib/providers/types.ts`, `lib/provider-labels.ts`).

## Connecting Accounts

### Introduction
You can connect calendar providers during initial setup (onboarding) or anytime later through the application settings.

### Step 1: Open the Account Manager
1. Navigate to your **Settings** and select **Accounts**, or look for the prompt on your calendar view if no accounts are connected.
2. Click **Add account** or select one of the provider connect buttons.

### Step 2: Authenticate Your Provider
1. Select your calendar provider from the list.
2. For **Google Calendar** or **Microsoft Outlook**, a secure sign-in window will open. Follow the prompts to sign in with your account credentials and grant calendar permissions.
3. For **Apple Calendar**, a credentials dialog will appear requesting your Apple ID email and an app-specific password.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> For Apple Calendar, your standard Apple ID account password will not work. You must generate a dedicated app-specific password by visiting [account.apple.com](https://account.apple.com) under **Sign-In and Security**.

## Managing and Maintaining Connections

### Introduction
Once connected, your accounts appear in your sidebar and account settings, where you can monitor their status, customize calendar names, or disconnect them if needed.

### Account Options and Monitoring
| Feature / Action | Description |
| :--- | :--- |
| **Rename calendars** | Keep provider names or rename calendars to match how you talk about them. |
| **Health monitoring** | The system automatically checks account health. If a token expires or is revoked, a notice will prompt you to reconnect. |
| **Disconnecting** | You can safely disconnect any account at any time. Disconnecting removes stored tokens and stops syncing events immediately. |

> [!WARNING]
> If a provider revokes your access token or changes your password, your account will require re-authorization. A notification badge will appear next to the account in your sidebar prompting you to **Reconnect**.
