Overview

About Third-Party AI Integrations

Calendar0 allows you to connect your calendar account to external AI assistants and AI client applications (such as Claude desktop, ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity, and custom MCP clients) using standard secure protocols. Once connected, these AI apps can view your free time, manage events, and search meeting notes on your behalf using your calendar0 account data.

Note

Third-party AI integrations require you to have at least one calendar account connected to calendar0 first.

Key Concepts

Before connecting an external AI assistant, it helps to understand a few foundational terms used throughout the integration settings:

  • MCP (Model Context Protocol): An open standard protocol that lets AI assistants securely talk to external tools and data sources like your calendar.
  • Connected Apps: External AI applications that you have granted permission to read and change your calendars via secure OAuth authorization.
  • Consent Screen: The web approval page where you explicitly review what an incoming AI app is allowed to do before granting access.

Connecting an External AI Assistant

You can connect calendar0 to popular AI apps directly from your settings or within the assistant panel.

  1. Open Calendar0 and navigate to your Settings, then select Connected apps. Alternatively, open the AI apps dialog from the assistant panel.
  2. Review the list of supported AI applications: Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity, and other custom MCP apps.
  3. Click on the tile for your desired AI app.
    • For web-integrated apps (such as Claude), this opens the app's directory listing in a new browser tab.
    • For apps requiring manual setup (such as Grok or Perplexity), calendar0 automatically copies your unique calendar0 MCP address to your clipboard.
  4. Follow the specific app instructions shown on your screen (such as signing in, adding a custom MCP connector, or pasting the calendar0 address).
  5. When prompted by the secure consent screen, review the requested permissions and click Approve.

Tip

If you are setting up an app that requires manual address pasting, look for an option like "+ Add custom MCP server" or "New Connector" in your AI assistant's settings menu.

Supported AI Providers

Calendar0 provides native instructions and direct integration links for the following AI application providers:

Managing and Revoking Access

You maintain complete control over which external AI applications can access your calendar data. You can view or disconnect apps at any time.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Connected apps in calendar0.
  2. Review the list of currently connected AI applications, which shows each app's name and the date it was connected.
  3. Click the Disconnect (unplug) icon next to any app you wish to remove.
  4. Confirm the revocation in the confirmation dialog.

Warning

Revoking an app cuts off its access immediately. The external AI app will instantly stop being able to read or modify your calendars until you reconnect it.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If an AI app fails to connect or interact with your calendars, check the following common scenarios:

  • Missing Calendar Error: If you see a prompt stating that no calendar is connected, make sure you have successfully linked at least one Google, Microsoft, or Apple calendar account in calendar0 before trying to use an AI integration.
  • Expired Requests: Consent requests expire after a short period for security reasons. If your browser sits on the consent screen too long, simply restart the connection process from your AI assistant.
  • Session Timeouts: If your web session ends while approving an app, calendar0 will safely sign the tab out to protect your account. Re-sign in and try connecting again.
