Setting Away Periods

Last updated Oct 15, 2026100% grounded

Overview

About Away Periods

The Away Periods feature allows you to block out vacation days, holidays, or any extended stretch of time when you are unavailable. When you set an away period, booking links across your entire account automatically stop offering available time slots for those dates.

Note

Away periods are managed globally per user. Adding an away period blocks all of your active scheduling links simultaneously.

How Away Periods Work

When a visitor attempts to book a time during an away period, the system handles the request based on whether you have included a public note:

  • Without a public note: The dates are entirely greyed out and unselectable on your public calendar.
  • With a public note: The dates remain selectable, and clicking them displays an away message card explaining your absence to the guest.

Managing Away Periods

Adding an Away Period

You can view, add, or remove away periods from your Availability settings page by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Availability page in the dashboard.
  2. Locate the Away section and click Add away period.
  3. Select your desired start and end dates using the range calendar.
  4. Optionally, add a note explaining your absence.
  5. Toggle Shown to guests on if you want visitors to see your note when clicking on those calendar dates.
  6. Save the away period.

Tip

You can create up to 50 active or upcoming away periods at any given time.

Removing an Away Period

To delete an existing away period from your account:

  1. Go to your Availability page.
  2. Find the away period you wish to delete in your list.
  3. Click the trash icon next to the entry to remove it immediately.
