Overview
Protecting your schedule is essential for maintaining deep focus, preventing burnout, and managing time away. The software provides several tools to help you take control of your calendar: setting Away Periods for vacations or time off, managing conflict calendars to ensure busy times are accurately detected across all your accounts, and booking dedicated focus time blocks to protect your working hours.
Setting Away Periods
Away Periods Overview
Away periods allow you to block out entire days (such as holidays or vacations) across all your booking links. When an away period is active, no one can book time with you on those dates.
How to Add an Away Period
- Navigate to your Availability settings page.
- Under the Away section, click the Add away period button.
- Select your desired date range using the calendar picker.
- Optionally, add a personal note (for example, "Holiday" or "Out of office").
- Toggle the Shown to guests switch if you want visitors to see your note on the booking page when they click that date.
- Click save to apply the away period.
Note
Away periods are applied per user, meaning they block bookings across every single scheduling link you own.
Managing Conflict Calendars
Conflict Calendars Overview
By default, every connected calendar counts toward your busy time when a guest tries to book a meeting. You can choose which specific calendars count as busy by toggling them on or off.
Configuring Conflict Calendars
- Go to your Availability settings page and find the Counts as busy section.
- Locate the connected account and calendar you want to adjust.
- Toggle the switch next to a calendar:
- Switch ON: Events on this calendar will block bookings and count toward your busy time.
- Switch OFF: Events on this calendar are ignored and will not block bookings.
Tip
Calendars that currently have your booking links pointed to them will display a Bookings badge for quick identification.
Blocking Focus Time
Focus Time Overview
You can protect your deep work sessions by blocking out focus time on your calendar. You can schedule either a single focus session or set up recurring focus time blocks.
Creating Focus Blocks
- Single Focus Sessions: Use commands or tools to block a single deep work session for a specific date and time (for example, "Block 2 hours for coding tomorrow morning"). If you do not specify a time, the system automatically finds the next available free slot within your working hours.
- Recurring Focus Time: Set up repeating focus sessions for patterns like daily, weekly, or specific weekdays (for example, "Block 2 hours of writing every Monday and Wednesday").
Important
Focus blocks automatically mark your calendar as busy (opaque), preventing other meetings or guest bookings from overlapping during your deep work time.
