Managing Calendar Views

Last updated Oct 18, 2026

Overview

The calendar view is your central hub for organizing schedule items, tracking daily commitments, and managing time across all connected calendar providers. It supports multiple layout modes, intuitive drag-and-drop rescheduling, quick event creation, and instant access to meeting join details.

Switching Views

You can switch between different calendar views using the toolbar options or keyboard shortcuts. Look at the top-right corner of the calendar toolbar and click on your desired view mode:

  • Day: Displays a detailed hourly layout for a single selected day.
  • Week: Displays a rolling seven-day window starting from your selected date.
  • Month: Displays a full matrix of the month, highlighting all scheduled events and multi-day bars.

Tip

Use keyboard shortcuts to switch views instantly: press d for Day view, w for Week view, or m for Month view. Use the left and right arrow keys to move backward and forward through time.

Creating Events Quickly

Adding Events with Quick Add

You can add new events to your calendar in seconds without digging through complex multi-field forms.

  1. Locate the quick-add text field in the toolbar (or press q on your keyboard).
  2. Type your event details naturally in plain language (for example: "Standup every weekday 9:30" or "Video call Thursday 4pm").
  3. Press Enter to instantly create the event or review the automatically filled form details.

Using Click-to-Create

  1. In Week or Day view, click directly on any empty time slot in the grid. The form automatically seeds with the selected day and time.
  2. In Month view, click on any empty day cell to open the creation dialog pre-filled for that day.
  3. Fill in any remaining details and save.

Rescheduling via Drag-and-Drop

Rescheduling in Week or Day View

Moving meetings around is fast and straightforward using mouse gestures directly on the calendar grid.

  1. Click and hold down your mouse button on the event card you want to move.
  2. Drag the event vertically to a new time slot or horizontally to a different day column.
  3. Release the mouse button to drop the event into its new position. The changes save automatically.

Rescheduling in Month View

  1. Click and hold down your mouse button on an event item or multi-day event bar.
  2. Drag your cursor across the calendar grid to the target date.
  3. Release the mouse button to shift the event's date range.

Warning

Rapidly overlapping drag operations are automatically queued behind the scenes to respect provider rate limits. If a network request takes a brief moment, your changes are safely preserved.

Viewing Meeting Join Details

Finding and Joining Calls

Accessing video conference links and meeting information takes a single click.

  1. Click on any event card on your calendar to open its detail panel.
  2. If a video conference link (such as Google Meet or Microsoft Teams) is attached to the event, a direct join option appears.
  3. Click the meeting link to open your conference call immediately.
