Notes and Transcripts

Last updated Oct 19, 2026

Overview

Introduction

The Notes and Transcripts feature allows you to attach notes to your calendar events, record audio for automated transcription, and manage important action items. Whether you are typing meeting summaries manually or recording a live call, the software captures your discussions, organizes your content, and provides powerful tools to search and categorize your meetings.

Note

Automated audio recording and AI-powered transcriptions require a paid plan.

Key Concepts

Before working with notes and transcripts, it helps to understand a few core terms:

  • Manual Notes: User-written markdown notes created directly for a calendar event.
  • Transcriptions: Automated records generated by recording audio, which include a cleaned-up text transcript and an AI-generated summary.
  • Action Items: Specific tasks extracted from or added to a meeting, complete with assignees and completion checkboxes.
  • Tags: Labels used to categorize and organize meetings across your dashboard.

Managing Meeting Notes

Creating and Opening Notes

  1. Open any event from your calendar.
  2. Locate the Notes section in the event panel.
  3. Click Write notes to create and open a new note page, or click an existing note preview to open it.

Editing Notes

  • Use the main editor view to update private notes or AI-enhanced content.
  • Changes are automatically saved as you type.

Recording and Automated Transcriptions

  1. Start recording a call from your calendar reminder or event panel.
  2. Once the call ends, the software processes the audio and extracts a transcript.
  3. An AI model cleans up the transcript, preserves speaker labels, and generates a structured summary highlighting key points, decisions, and action items.
  4. Access the clean transcript alongside your notes by switching between the Notes and Transcript tabs in the meeting view.

Managing Action Items

Action items help keep track of what needs to get done after a meeting.

  • Viewing: Action items appear at the top of enhanced meeting notes.
  • Creating: Click Add next to the Action items header to type a new task.
  • Assigning: Click the assignee badge on any action item to search attendees and reassign the task.
  • Completing: Click the checkbox next to an action item to mark it as done.

Organizing with Tags

Tag Management

  • Creating Tags: Open the tag menu from the meetings dashboard to create new custom tags.
  • Applying Tags: Open a meeting note, click the tag chips area, and select the tags you want to apply.
  • Filtering: Use the tag filter on your meetings dashboard to view only the notes associated with a specific tag.
